Canonical Establishment of the Oratory as a Congregation of Pontifical Rite

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

It is with great joy that we announce that we were notified today (April 18) that on April 7th, Divine Mercy Sunday, our Holy Father, Pope Francis, had officially and canonically erected The Red Bank Oratory of St. Philip Neri as a Congregation of Pontifical Right.

We are so grateful to our Holy Father, Pope Francis and to our incredible Bishop, The Most Rev. David M. O'Connell, C.M., who has been so wonderful to us! We are also heartedly grateful to Fr. Michele Nicolis, C.O., the Procurator General and Mr. Alberto Bianco, the Secretary and Archivist of the Oratory, as well as Bishop Mario Aviles, C.O., our first Procurator General, and all our Oratorian brothers from other communities who have guided us, helped us, and who continue to inspire us. We are humbled to be in the company of such good men.

And most of all, we thank our good and gracious Lord who has bestowed this mercy upon us. And we are also so grateful to all of you, our friends and coworkers in God's vineyard!

Now, let's roll up our sleeves once again and get to work for God and His Kingdom, the Church!

St. Philip Neri, and all Holy Oratorian Saints and Blesseds, pray for us!

- Fr Alberto, C.O., Fr. Nicholas, C.O., Br. Donald, C.O., Br. Daniel, C.O., Br. Zachary, Br. Anthony, and Br. James Bonanno
